What We Heart

A big thank you to Amy Strauss of the Philadelphia City Paper who put me in this weeks What We Heart column. I do want to clarify that I make all my dishes from scratch. They are all entirely new works. The article may leave you thinking I just paint on old dishes or somehow add to found dishes and that is it. Not true at all, everything is handmade by me.
Just so you know.

Start The Day

Today is mold making day. Nobody likes mold making day. I dragged out the morning, prolonging the first dog walk of the day and by making a real breakfast that did not consist of only coffee. I also got to try out one of my new plates. Ok Ok I am going already. Off to the studio with me.

Paper Flowers

So as well as taking picture I spent Sunday looking after my mopey dog (her sister went home after a 10 day visit) and cutting a massive amount of paper flower and leaf stencils. I have a lot of work to make next month so I thought I would stock pile these. I have found my work is not as good when I cut the stencils as I go, I seem to rush to get them on the pots. So now I have more than enough, 400 sheets worth to be precise.

New Etsy Posts

I finally got around to taking some new images for the Etsy shop and they look pretty nice. Posted some of it today and sold a cup right away. There is nothing like a sale to invigorate you on a dreary day such as today.

The New Studio, Complete With Studio Dogs

So I finally feel all set up and settled in to my new studio in Philadelphia. It took a few months and one extra studio move to get things right but now it is full steam ahead. I will post more images when the print show is up and running but for now it will be super ceramic time.
