Pattern Source: Vintage Textiles
I am looking to find new inspiration for patterning my dishes. Vintage textiles might it.
I highly recommend this book : Textile Designs: Two Hundred Years of European and American Patterns Organized by Motif, Style, Color, Layout and period

Out With the Old
Well folks its officially unloading time. I have too much stuff stacked up in my new and much smaller studio. So I am listing it all online.
Seconds, samples and some perfect dishes. Check it out, buy something for your mom!
Melt My Heart
So I will admit it, I have been holding a grudge. Sophomore year of college I was given a critique by Liz Quackenbush that, well, crushed me. And I have been a tad bitter ever since.
Recently I was at my Friend Amy Santoferraros house and on the kitchen table sat a decorated vase that was just stunning. Turns out it was a collaboration between Liz and a student. Upon the revelation of the maker I decided not to like it quite as much but i definitely couldn't help liking it a bit. Then I was perusing Artaxis and saw this plate, holy crap is it amazing or what! So I have decided (albeit reluctantly) to let go of my very immature grudge and accept that despite trying quite hard, my sophomore efforts were..............bad.

The Amazing Kari Radasch
When I struggle to stay focused in the studio, I often try to conjure the spirit of my friend Kari Radasch. Sound weird? Well Kari has the most amazing practice I have ever seen. She can focus like no one else I know. Recently she switched gears and started making a whole new body of work that is fantastic. Dishes that are like sugar cookies and ginger bread houses.

In The Niche
I just had a small show at The Clay Studio, Philadelphia. The opening of the show was the first time I had been there in a while and I have to say the newly expanded space looks fantastic. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
